Son and I got to Branch about 3:15 or so. Started fishing about 3:30.
I was going after river chicken using a three way rig with minnows, another slip bobber rod with a larger minnow and a Garland jig. (Chart/white)
My son, being stubborn, used a chart/orange jighead and a worm. 1/16oz
He caught a decent yellow perch right off the bat..10" or so, then a shellcracker, then another....... Dad switches to jighead with worm, catches a 10" mud cat.
Son catches another cracker.

Another bluegill apiece, then about this time we saw lightning in the distance and decided to pack it in. (easy decision)
By the time we got our rods stowed and anchors up, a gust of wind came up that was really intense. Almost blew us to the shore before I got the motor in gear. Fought a headwind and large (for a lake) waves all the way back to the launch, but it never rained on us. No close lightning either thankfully.
Since the boat's loaded and all.....we're going again at sunrise, hopefully with better weather. (and dad with more fish)
