Went fishing yesterday morning
Well if I had not been so lazy I would have took pics again, but after getting down to my cleaning station last evening and forgot the camera I just blew off the pics.
Anyway I had my wife and Grandson with me, but they didn't really fish much as he was distracted, but I by my self caught 9 really nice crappie and one catfish. I use to catch a lot of catfish while crappie fishing and even many on the jigs, but for some reason I had not caught a catfish in probably over a year. Personally I can do without them slime climbing, line twisting fish.
Here is why I am making this post really. I had to fish a good bit deeper yesterday than before and I bet most of the crappie came like 16'-17' down.
Just a tip for you guys to check out, try deeper. The bream were in my best spots by big numbers and you had to get below them or they were all over the minnow. I even caught one bream on the jig I was using. I had changed over to a small jig and added drop shot weight to try one of my wasp jigs. I feel like that jig is more in the tiny jig style and thought I would try that to see if they would take it better than a large jig, but the large jig won that deal. The ones with the peacock swords tied in. I think the only jig I caught crappie on this week was the FL. Red/Tomato Seed/FL Chart in a 1/4 oz. size.

You have more patience than I, when the brim and blue gill show up. I had the same thing happen a couple of weeks ago, in a hole I had been catching some big fish in for several weeks. All of a sudden.... Brim. I have to move, when those guys show up. My pattern has gone Summer... all together. My fish are 24' - 25' now, and will only bite at 2 hours of dawn and dusk. After that its over. Im not complaining though, Im still on fish, but having to work for them. With the temps. climbing... a couple of hours is all I want anyway.
Can somebody say FALL.

LOL Yeah as hot as it's getting I will slow down on how much I go. Have been on some real nice fish too and have had a few bream from time to time, but this hole is full of them. From the surface to about 12'-14' deep. You can see them after stuff near the top and at the same time have them taking a minnow down 14'. I was getting pretty frustrated until I dropped it down a little more and then the crappie were there.

I can't catch a fish less than 20 to 24' fow water in about 30-33' fow. Catching everything on marmooska ice jigs yellow/char. and orange/char. with beemoth or minnow. Water temps 83 degrees. Moon phase, does not seem to matter much, but the darker the better.
