Thumbs up Going to Sam Rayburn in the morning

My grandpa, my dad, and I are going to put in at Shirley Creek in the morning. Any suggestions on where to go? We're gonna try the the stumps around the big island first, but other than that, we have no clue! Maybe the deerstand?
If anyone sees two big guys and a loud bald headed grandpa not catching any fish tomorrow, come say hi! We'll all be crowded into an old Kingfisher(those weight capacities are only guidelines right?)

Good luck, but maybe it would have helped if you posted a little earlier as this board is good, but a little slow. There are several people that fish Rayburn here and I fish about 25 miles away at Toledo Bend.

Hope you guys catch them and sorry I can't be of any real help over there. I have not fished Rayburn in several years. I would look for creeks with trees to fish around if I didn't have any brush put out.

Thanks Skip! It was kind of a last minute deal! You know how that goes! We caught 0 crappie, 1 striper, 6 catfish. Everything we caught was around the Deerstand at various stumps. Too many stumps to choose from! We had a good time though. It's nice to fish different water every now and then!

Jacob, did you fish any around the islands across from Shirley Creek? My fishing partner and I will take a run up there and look over the area, always looking for someplace to fish. Don't tell anybody but our brush is from the Deer Stand up the Attoyac to 3/4 mile past the overhead power line in 20-35' of water. Not catching a lot but have fun getting out. Ferdi aka Fred If you ever head to Broaddus give me a holler or stop at the American Angler Bait and Tackle and they know how to get ahold of Mr. Fred

I appreciate it Mr. Fred! We were mainly fishing stumps around the island by the marina, but not catching anything. One of my dad's friends happened to be at the marina this morning and a guy told him that he was catching nice ones across from the rock wall between the marina and the Deer Stand in the evenings, but they weren't biting this morning. From what everyone at the marina was saying, everyone was catching fish just going from stump to stump, and not staying at any one too long. I'm from Nacogdoches, so we mainly fish Lake Nacogdoches, so hitting up Sam Rayburn was kind of a treat.
