Chris, It was nice to meet you at the lake yesterday.
I now know why your name was stuck in my head.
Another funny thing is that my wife said that she works with you.
Her name is Jackie, she's a yield tech, or something like that.
Chris, we found most of our fish yesterday in 3-8ft.
The water has cooled down a bit and the fish are getting more active.
On the other hand, some of the fish will just gum your bait and just get heavy.
Fishing in shallow b/p's can be tough not to get hung up and to be able to tell the difference between a fish and brush.
I fished with my tournament bud in the morning and I fished alone in the afternoon.
We finished with 24 keepers and probably 70 total fish.
The first b/p we fished had 7 keeper fish. The reason I decided to hit it first was that I knew that more than likely, no one had fished it in a while due to all the water skier's in the area for the Labor Day weekend. We hit it early in the morning before all the lake traffic got started and tore em up.
If I'm not on a guide trip, I'm always exploring the lake, productive or not, I have to try different locations for future trips.
All our fish caught on jigs, Thumpit Jigs, Rocky Top plastics, and my homemade jigs.
All jig presentations tipped with crappie nibbles, seemed to get more bites.
BTW, Be careful when you drop off your fishing partner in the middle of the day and you already have 18 keepers on the boat. Your limit just changed by half.
I had to do a quick inventory so I would'nt be over the limit!
Give me a call sometime if ya wanna go catch some on jigs!
