    Default Murvaul

I fished Tuesday at Murvaul, only caught two White Perch but lots of catfish. Went back Thursday morning. I got on the water at 10 am, got a late start. Caught 12 nice keepers and lot, of small fish, by 11.15am. It started raining at 11:15 and man was that rain cool. I had to go in, I was soaked. I was using minnows and fishing 16' FOW, three feet off the bottom.

I bet it was nice to get back out there. I'm gonna try back up the Pines this weekend or next week and see if anybodies home at some new brushpiles me and Quicksilver sank a couple weeks ago.

09/05 Saturday morning, took my 7 year old grandson to Murvaul. We caught lots of White Perch on shade. I caught the shade at the bubbles, he can hook them easier than minnows. They hit the shade fine. We only keep 13 W.P.s and one catfish. They were in 15 FOW 10' deep.

    Nice mess of black crappie!

I took my son Saturday afternoon and we caught 10-12 with 5 being keepers. Went back today and only caught one! Oh well it was good being out even with the Labor day idiots on the loose. Should be better in about a month or so.

Got to go when you can, holiday or no holiday. I stop catching fish when the ski boats showed up, thats no joke. the bite just cut off, that was Saturday. My son went Saturday later that day. He did not catch anything and went this morning, Monday and did not catch anythig. I am sure you are right, it's going to get better. I talked to some fellows at Massey's geting bait. They told me they were killing the W.P.s at Martin lake.

I just hope they aren't killing themselves with the mercury!

Wow JA, really nice crappie there!! Was that Dillon you took fishing with you? I have more problems hooking "shade" than minnows...always have!! Mercy, yea I know what you're talking about, shad at the bubbles...they must have finally fixed them after fishing or catching suffered for a few years.

Glad you're getting out and doing some fishing. What, no Marion fishing with yall? I reckon he still does better eating them than catching them or at least being able to sit down in a boat, much less stand up.

    Tell everyone I said hello!

You are right Zack, that is why I do not fish Martin Lake. No Chris, I took Zack with me, Dillon was with his dad. The bubbles have been on for over a year, fishing getting better. Catfish are getting some size on them. Marion is going with us once and a while. Still will not stand up in the boat.
FroggerZ, my neighbor went yesterday and caught 38 catfish two Crappie. He is a better catfish angler than a Crappie angler.

When fishing gets a little better up on the LOP. I might see if we can get you up here for a day of fishing maybe in a month or two. The TFF guys were talking about doing a fall get together at LOP since Lk Millwood, AR is in a drawdown.

That sounds great Zack. A get together would be fun.
