Default New to the Site and Forum

    Hey guys,

I just recently joined this site as well as this forum. I'm a lover of crappie fishing and looking to increase my skills. Any information and hints about crappie in south central Texas would be appreciated. I mostly fish Lake Granger, Lake Travis, and Lake Georgetown. If you know of any other good locations within 100 miles, I would like to give them a try as well. I look forward to sharing my adventures with you guys.

Welcome Aboard From East Texas !...

Sorry I can't help you with any of thye lakes that you mentioned, but pull up a chair, there will be someone that will chime in from those lakes.. Fall/Winter Crappie fishing is just around the corner and it just doesn't get any better than Winter crappie fishing in The Lone Star.... Enjoy!

    Hey Koobycrappie'

I've fished many times with Tommy Tidwel (also a crappie guide on Granger) over the past few years. I would have given you a try if I was aware you provided that service. Maybe I can arrange a few paid trips with you if you are willing to teach me a thing to two. I seem to do extremely well fishing with guides but do not enjoy the same results when boating alone. My wife recently got into crappie fishing so now the pressure is on to improve my skills and put her on fish. Happy to hear from you...

Chris, If you fished with Tidwell, you fished with the senior guide on Lake Granger.
I offer up a little different tactics than Tommy and some of the same practices that he offers.
I fish from a New Crestliner that is a special Crappie Edition version that has two seat capabilities up front for Spider Riggin.(slow trolling).
This type of fishing has been excellent in the fall, winter, and spring when the crappie are usually scattered and chasing baitfish.
I set up 7 poles up front with tandem baits rigged on each pole.
This will let you cover an area about 22 feet across and about 12 ft in front of the boat with 14 baits in the water. The tips of the poles are about 15 in. above the water and when an aggressive fish hits, the tips will bounce down to the water and FISH ON!
I believe that I am the only guide on the lake that offers this type of fishing and it can be a blast.
I have been perfecting this system for the last three years and it gets better every year.
If you want to give it a try, give me a shout.
BTW, I don't bash any of the guides because they are all good and they are my friends and they are all good at what they do.
I just offer something a little different, thats all.

Thanks for your interest and give me a call if I can help in any way.
