(full disclosure report will be posted, after my trip, as usual)
The small males have moved up but don't have their tuxedos on yet. You'll catch zillions of them. Some big females are being taken but its catch one hear and then move and catch one there. Water temp Sunday afternoon was 62. This massive cold-front that is blowing through right now (it's snowing) may change everything but it's supposed to get warm again pretty quick so I don't think it will hurt them too bad. I've caught a 14.5" and 15.5" in my last two trips. Stay away from Caney Creek. The boat traffic and fishing are both not too good. Water is about 739.5.
pappy, its your guess, the weather and water temps have been very sporadic here lately, and the crappie have been hard to find , at least for me
Crazy weather in East Tenn. makes for crazy fishing....good luck!
I'm just wondering if they are going to leave the water where it's at or drop it and then bring it back up. Normally, TVA will wait till the croppie get in the full blown spawn and then drop the bottom out of the lake thus messing up the spawn.
I caught a new personal best today on Watts Bar. A 2 pound 6 ounce 16.5" female. Caught her in 7 ft along with all the 7-8" males I could handle. Wind had the fish feeding in less than a foot under the surface. Sorry no picture I don't got a digital camera.
What portion of lake were you fishing?
