Default Advice for 1st time on Cherokee

I ussually fish Douglas, but thought I might try to fish Cherokee on Easter Sunday. I need as much help as I can get though. Any pointers of areas of the lake to fish, and a good place to stop for bait would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. We (my wife and I) are expecting our first baby in a few weeks, so my time as you can see is precious. She has to work that day and so it will be one the last days I get to fish for quite some time. I would really like to get on some fish if you guys can help a little. By the way, I will be coming from knoxville, so something convenient would be helpful, but I don't mind going out of my way to find fish.

Last weekend we found fish in the creeks in the upper end of the lake. Take 11W (Rutledge Pike) out of Knoxville and there a couple of places to buy bait in Bean Station.
There's a Fireworks/Tackle/Bait store (maybe called "Country Boy's") on the right in Bean Station. I've seen a lot trucks with boats pull in there for bait.
Hope you catch a bunch of them.

Yep Country Boys is correct. However he is hardly there at daylight. I have been buying bait from him for years. Coming from knoxville he will be your best bet. If you fish up near poor valley there is a bait store past there on your left. However they do count 1 by 1. Country Boys just dips an doesnt count. I think 3 dz is 2.36 i think an you will get more..Ray creek and german creek are pretty good spots as well to fish...Goodluck

    Default Thanks

Thanks for the help guys. I will continiue to read posts and see what depth people are catching them at as it gets closer. I assume they will still be off the banks. I'm not set up for slow or trolling or long lining (no rod holders) but have drifted and long lined with only two rods at a time and had some luck. We'll see what happens. I'll let you guys know how I do.
