Thread: Catalpa worms.

    Default Catalpa worms.

    anyone know if the bo-wevel radifacation has put a hurt on them!
    Or can you add cat. worms to your tree's and they will still take over and grow?
    Any help would be appr.

    John,
    I use to get them off of Viar rd.and 104 but they have not been on there several years or someone beat me to them. From what I understand it takes several years before they will get on a tree but you can't harvest all of them from that tree. Just google it and you could understand it better than me explaining it. Hope this helps and hope to get on the water soon before Justin gets all the fish! LOL!!!!

    Thanks LYNN that what i heard . that it was starting or was harder to get them started! Besides getting them tree's growing!
    It's a hard topic to get any info on!

    Something has defintely put a hurt on them around here. There are at least 10 catalpha trees around my property and every summer they were always covered up with worms up until about 8-10 years ago.

    Your trees still have beans?

    Ours don't have beans anymore..

    I believe that a lot of the side road trees don't get any worms any more because the state/county started spraying the roadside to kill grass. The catalpa worm nests underground. The worm morphs into a big moth.......The chain was broken by the spray...
