Any body using them around here for crappie? Tncrappie was by the house yesterday and he showed me some real simple small planer boards. He says Chickamaunga fisherman are using them a lot. I did not think to take pictures but they looked pretty neat. They are made here in East Tn and I have the Phone number and email address if any one wants to look into them.

I would like to have a few. Thx
I spoke to Arnold Bishop who makes these planers today. I didn't want to post his information without talking to him. his ph # is 423-506 2000 and his email addy is lilsharky@usit.net
He also told me that the bait shop on Hwy 58 at the Chickamonga sells these boards. A bait shop on Douglas also sells them. I BELIEVE it was called Sloans but I am not 100% sure. They are $20 a pair. He sells them himself also.

last year we used those on weiss lake in the spring and caught a lot of crappie on them, they work great, and you can stagger them and put 5 ,6 or more on one side of the boat and that many more on the other side.
sailfish, how deep was the water, and how deep were you fishing?.

in the spring, we were trolling in 10 to 12 ft of water, sometimes shallower, we would make a pass and watch the depth finder and whatever depth we saw the fish at, thats where we'd set the planer boards , which was usually around 6 to 8 ft deep.the fish were generally a little shallower in the mornings , then as the sun got high, they would move out some or under the docks.
It looks as though you have used those planer boards. I guess they would work for Walleye. A friend was asking me about them this afternoon. He catches some nice Walleye on Tellico in the Vonore area. One of these days maybe we can hook since you are only 20 miles or so away. I lost the PM with your phone number.
Now Oldwun I'm going to take you in the spring and show you the planer board basics. then you can take it up and show it to Booger if he doesn't already know.
you have to move to fast to pull planer boards booger wouldn't be interested :D:D
