Any size to em'. I was at Morgan Creek Sat. and the water temp was still 79*. I didn't find any fish that shallow but then again I didn't fish a lot. I was there mainly to run the boat.

Me and my son caught 10 keepers, on stumps and shallow treetops. Half were 12.5" and bigger.

What was the water temp.? I need to get back down to beech. I really like it down there. Isn't crappie hollow down that way. I have it on my map but I can't remember how close it is to Beech.

water temp was 67 caught some on stumps in as shallow as 10" and some in treetop up to 4.5". Caught these on minnows. Beech river is about 10 miles by river from crappie hollow.

Some of the Birdsong folks talk about a Crappie Hollow between the mouth of the Duck and Birdsong Creek on the west side of the river. I don't know if that's the same place you are talking about or not.

    Default i believe...

the crappie hollow he is referring to is about 10 mi south of the I 40 bridge. Close to the brodies landing cherokee heights area on land, on the east side of the river.

Yes Crappieslayer...that is the one I'm talking about. I have never fished it but I would like to sometime. It probably doesn't have any water in it right now. Did you by chance get a weight on that beast that you caught?

    I love fishing the river.:D

i haven't been in there when the water is this low. I have only fished in there when the water is up in the bushes. I didn't weigh that fish it was right at 14". In the spring a 14" from beech river will weigh 2+. That on was a male and was prolly a hir under 2lb. Beech is a little more fertile than most of the local tributaries mud and silt bottom in lieu of gravel. And the fish in there on average will weigh more than one the same size from one of the clear (less fertile) tributaries. Other words they got shoulders on em. Pretty good picture for a phone isnt it?
