    Default West Virginia Deer Hunt

Took a nice 6 point, a spike, and doe. The spike was a 3 year old deer with 2 spikes about 14" long. Almost looked like an anelope. I got some pics on the phone post 'em later.

A new Tahoe passed me on my way to South Holston Saturday about 11:00 AM. He had a full grown 8 pointer on a rack hanging off the back. Sure made me jealous. That deer was 200lb brute, a real monster. I assume he got it in Virginia because Tennessee is out right now. I got a line on 300 acres 3 miles from my house. Now I'm in business. I plan to let the air out of one just as soon as rifle comes back in. Congrats on the deer - I plan to make jerky and a bunch of sausage out of the next one I get. Backstraps and tenderloin, man I can tatse it .

    Default Nice

That sounds like a great trip!!! I managed to fill my buck tag in Kentucky a couple weeks ago. We only get one buck tag there but they have some awesome deer there to make up for it. I managed to get a 9 point that scored 132.

Perfect! Crappie fishing and deer hunting at the same time! Does it get any better than that... I'll bring my Wetherby 300 Win Mag and my Browning Ultra light rod. Catch a crappie on a jig, set the rod down and... BLAMMMMMM drop a big ol' buck :D . We'll be deaf for three or four hours after I touch off that 300 Win Mag though damn that thing is loud. I'll have to put my seat belt on too - that thing might knock my fat butt out of the boat!

All kidding aside - Saturday for sure? Speck, sinkum, charger and who ever else - let's go!

I use a Browning 7mm-08 Micro Hunter. I can't take the punishment anymore. If that were legal I would be a happy man. I don't know about the net man though. You think the net man would agree to field dress also?
