Thread: Well, Got Drilled

Went to Woods today with Fishawk and my usual fishing buddy from work. I sank 4 boo condos to get the day started off right. Met Steve at the dock around eight and went fishing. Well, that is where everything went wrong. As everyone knows, I am a minner fisherman. Mostly spider rigging, tightlining or slip bobbers and occasionally shoot a few docks and use a jig every now and then. Me not having a minner in the boat is unheard of, but I did that today. I am determined to try to learn the fine art of vertical jigging. Anyways, we went to the spot that Steve has been reporting on catching his limits. He wasn't lying. He put a whooping on me that will take a few days to heal. There definately is an art to it and I don't know it yet. Total count, 15 total cleaned by me, none caught by me. He did feel sorry for me and let me have the fish. I did manage 1 shorty and my other buddy caught nada. Oh well, trying to learn a few things and can take a beating, I mean bad beating if I can watch and learn a few things. This guy can fish!!!!!!!! Thanks for a good morning Steve. FATBOY ps Yeah I said 15 Steve. You lost count in there somewhere.:D

and he always busts on me for being a jig fisherman...way to go Fishawk , sorry i couldn't join you fellers this morning , but had a patch job come up at the last minute. Maybe next time.

I feel for you fat boy, I too was strickly a minner man, but am trying to learn to fish jigs. Pretty scary going to the lake without minners, but, no pain no gain.

Yoiu guys are talking about minners, exactly what is that? Never used one.

J J J you shoulda took his jig from him. Feels good to see people catch fish though.

I thought "Killer" taught you how to jig fish... I think you need to get with Texas Jimmy for a refresher course....:D
