Great job! Good report ! I see this about every year but most everyone says it’s over but when the proof is in the pudding it’s obviously not!
Got out around 6:00 this evening. We decided to hit some docks again, as a summer pattern seems to be shaping up. Air temp was mid 80’s and water was 72-74 surface temps. This evening, my wife was on fire with the bigger ones! She had two that just missed TARP status by a fraction. I was up front trying to perform an exorcism on my demon trolling motor! We had some wind and some wake to contend with, but we made it work. The strange part, at least to me, I marked some fish in around 8’ FOW. I was pretty sure they were bream, but the first quick bite was a 11” Crappie, all dressed in black and a boogered up tail! Plus, he had friends, and they were all wearing courting colors! I guess some are still at it. Ain’t nature amazing!

Good catch and report. We do not have many stationary docks in deep water on Cherokee\Douglas so a dock shooting pattern does not seem to develop for me in the summer. I have done it with limited success, mainly around docks that are floating but have brush adjacent to them. Vertical casting deep brush and pulling cranks seem to be the most reliable summer pattern up here. Keep after them!

Marinas are one of my favorites. You have some of them, I know. Fishing the ET Crappie Club at those two lakes, that I don’t know well, that was my go to. Didn’t load the boat, but usually got seven to weigh. That being said, you can’t beat good ol deep brush! The pulling cranks? Very effective, but not my favorite. More than two rods on deck, I start getting anxious! That’s my problem!
