    Default Crappie and Shellcrackers 5/14/2018

Wanda wanted to hit the Shellcracker beds before they quit biting. As usual, she should have been with me yesterday. Oh, we caught a few, and were determined not to keep any under 9" long, so our meager catch today was 4 crackers. These fish were caught on black BG itty bitty slab slayers and pink lemonade itty bitty slab slayers. We caught numerous fish that were under our 9" limit, and we didn't want to fish long because we have some shopping and running around to do this afternoon, so we quit early.

We needed a couple more fish to complete a fish fry for us, so I stopped at the deep brush that we have put out and we both caught white crappie 13.75 and 13.25 inches long. We kept those. We also caught 5 black crappie that were under 10" and seemed to be around 8-9" long. We caught these on 2" plastic lures. Bass Assassin Chicken on a Chain and a natural color lure that I bought last week and wanted to try. I don't remember the color, but it is a natural color. Not many pics.
