Default Input for where to take my kid

I’ve almost exclusively fished muskie the past couple years and just done a few little trips for crappie here and there. My 6yo is itching for some fillets this weekend. I’m wondering where you guys would recommend around Douglas/WattsBar or similar distances from Knoxville area. He’s only got to crappie fish on a few small lakes and one trip to Tellico. Trying to find an area with enough going on to keep him occupied. I’ve got a spider rigging setup, plenty of jig poles/ultralites, grubs/jigs/etc

Watts Bar, Douglas, Loudoun, or Tellico should all fill that order.

Any particular areas of interest to start? I’m most familiar with Watts Bar. But I’ve only been out about 2 times in 2 months due to work so no clue where bait has been lately or anything of that sort

You can take my opinion with a large grain of salt, but seeing as how the Watts Bar Crappie are most likely post spawn ... I'd probably go to Caney Creek & fish around the bridge pillars and/or troll the creek. I do know that the Shanlu Branch (between the parks) is a known spawning area, and have caught fish in it. Caught many a fish around the bridge pillars, too. There's a launch ramp right by the bridge.

Looking at this link : https://webapp.navionics.com/?lang=e...key=qmzyEpvkcO .... you can zoom in and see the general contour layout of the creek, general locations of submerged road beds & bridges.
Thanks Wood_Duck thanked you for this post
