    Default Relfoot

Thinking of making my first ever trip to Reelfoot around the middle to end of March. I know it is somewhat of a shallow lake. Lots of underwater stumps.
In looking at many pictures of there I never see a bass boat (fiberglass). I have a Ranger. 18.5'. I don't go running around full speed ever. I do lots more putting and idling than running around. I never bass fish. I am a crappie, blue gill fisherman. Occasionally a walleye. I have it for the comfort and easy getting around in windy conditions. Is this a lake you would take your bass boat to? Or better just to rent a boat there? I am leaning toward taking mine just for the electronics I have on it. Does anyone know how accurate the Navionics plus maps are at Reelfoot? PLEASE give me your feed back. ALL COMMENTS ARE WELCOMED.
Crappie spawning and morels popping up at the same time. What was God thinking when he made that schedule. It's pure torture every spring deciding which to do.

Depends what type of fishing your wanting to do. You will not need any electronics on reelfoot. It's pointless and that's coming from a guy that loves electronics.

Thanks for the feed back. I will be crappie & blue gill fishing. Probably bobber and minnow/jig. I am not set up for any kind of spider rig. I am a single pole fisherman.

I have lakemaster, HB base maps and navionics...none of them have anything for reelfoot. Just a blue spot that says reelfoot and a couple of creek bottoms i've never seen. Just take your time and you will be fine. Dont jump in behind somebody flying across. My dad flies around there all the time because he has an outboard jet and people think they can just jump in behind him. Expensive lesson!!

For single poling you will probably be better off in starting at Kirby Pocket or Grays Camp and following the marked lanes or ditches until you find a place you want to try. Not as much chance of hitting stumps or old rebar someone used to mark stumps.

Thanks to everyone for the replies. I know there is all kinds of advertising about Blue Bank Resort. Are there any other resorts you would recomend?
