Normandy
Good morning all...been wanting to register here for some time , but work has kept me pretty busy. Now that i have taken the time to register and become a member , i wanted to introduce myself and greet my fellow "crappie brethren". My name is Pete and I'm a slab seeker just like the rest of ya! - Anyway , fished Normandy Saturday the 30th with gusty winds and still managed 10 keeper blacknosed with the kicker fish being a black crappie 15'' long with a 13'' girth and a healthy weight of 2lbs. 4 oz...hitting Percy in the morning with a buddy and hope to crank some goodun's in.

Welcome aboard! I live between Normandy and Woods. Don't get to go nearly enough. Next time you're coming this way holler & maybe we can meet.

Sounds good TN_Explorer...I'm not that hard to miss out there , I'm the one paddling around the first bridge area in a tiny one man pirougue...most people think I'm crazy , but i like the stealth approach.

Stealth approach
Yep, we definitely need to talk --
My son & I have two kayaks purchased deliberately for fishing, although we have yet to use them much. Our plan for the kayaks is to do some float fishing/camping trips down a few rivers. I'm not real sure I like the idea of sitting near a bridge fighting bass boat wakes, but if we can find some shallows, we'll be in business.
It sounds like a blast catching fish from a tiny boat.

I love fishing out of that little boat , but it can get quite uncomfortable...as far as the boat wakes , i learned a long time ago how to ride those out - it can be annoying at times as i believe some of the bigger boats purposely come in close to see if they can roll me...have been told by many that it's the perfect boat for getting into reelfoot , but i have yet to fish there...supposed to this spring with a bunch of guys i camped with last year , but sounds like my next job is taking me to Louisville,Ky and i may not make the trip. River floats/camping sounds good , i haven't done that in several years because nobody wants to do it anymore.

Hit the Carroll Creek area with very little luck yesterday. I think we boated 25 fish with only 5 keepers. The lake was up and stained and the fish were hard to find... two of the 5 were healthy whites , some of the biggest I've ever seen.By far the worst day I've ever had on Normandy.

Fatboy is heading to Normandy tomorrow. I haven't fished in a week this past thursday. Yeah, I know, 11 days is too long but I gotta do what I gotta do. Gonna stay out there until I start catching. I don't catch huge numbers, but I catch huge fish. Just ask Tn Explorer. Raining sideways here but radar is showing that it is gonna pass soon. These fish have had a 11 day rest to get a gameplan together. If they get caught tomorrow , its their own fault. LOL FATBOY

We?
Who's "WE," Batitude? I've seen your little boat. I'm not sure you could put 5 keeper fish in that boat besides yourself!!! :D

I have a winter fishing buddy from Watertown...he's never fished Normandy and came down to see if i was fillin' him with bull about larger crappie...needless to say , he'll be fishing Normandy more now since he got a taste of bigger fish. As for the small boat - I hang my stringer over the side tied to my seat support , lord knows there ain't much room in there for a small tackle box,a bucket of minners and myself. Maybe someday this year I'll buy myself a big boys boat. Sounds like i need to fish with Fatboy since he knows where the hawgs are.
