Any advice on Reelfoot fishing early March 4th.?
Find other boats and fish the same type of water.
If you can find no other boats, it's probably too windy to fish. (Don't expect to see many boats that time of year.)
fishing at that time of year can be very unpredictable depending on what part of the lake you are fishing and the current weather pattern. if you fish on the lower blue basin, try the deeper water out by green island using minnows. that is not to say that fish will not be in shallow water because i have caught fish that time of year in 4 to 6 ft depths. A lot of the fishing on reelfoot depends on the wind. when you find the fish, stay with them and fish slow because when you catch one you will catch many.

Fished Reelfoot last week in March "06" and didn't do as I expected too. What luck we did have was in the lillypads East of Blue Bank Resort (about a mile), you won't see pads this time of year but you will find the stocks.
Best time was after noon when the water warmed some. However if March plays out like it should in Tennesee you may have warmer wheather then I had. But still expect winds to be a factor when trying to stay over fish.
As for bait keep live minnows on don't fish with dead ones. If your using plastics best colors were chartruse, white, pink, and blue, change em up if not producing.
Good Luck

March 4 is the tournament I think. Winners are usually in the lily pad sticks whoopin on them big blacks. Gotta be super quiet and very patient.
I hope to be there for the tourn. My first Crappie tourney I'm really lookiing forward to it

You can catch fish anytime of the year at the foot if the wind will allow.
Spring you should be able to catch fish even if the wind is blowing, because you can find some place to get out of the wind.
Don't wait till march to try the fishing, I have caught some of my biggest fish in January. In fact I should be after them this weekend.
