Not east Tn, but on some lakes in East Tennessee. Fort Loudon & Tellico still has a creel limit of 30Originally Posted by speck chaser
yeah not all lakes in East TN are 15 i dont remember whichs ones arnt but o well i fish douglas and its 15 thats all that matters
I do agree with creel limits and size limits. However, I do think you can cut back too much. Depending on the type of lake or whatever body of water you might be fishing, this could be a negative thing to do. Crappie are very aggressive, therefore if you overpopulate an area with too many, then the quality will not be as good because their will be less food supply. I think the creel limit has worked great right where it is at (30) for most places.
When i said east tn.it was more of northeast tn i was referring to such as douglas, cherokee and boone south holston and watuga.

I seem to have had a self imposed limit in the last few months. Can't seem to get over 15 keepers before I have to go do something or have an appointment of some kind.
My $.02
In the month's between February and June, I can usually boat a limit or at least put 20-25 in the boat. This time of year, I do well to get 15, but I want to be able to keep more should they be "on" like they were a couple weeks ago.
The agency has recommended that the comission drop the limit to 15 on all Region II, III, and IV lakes with the exception of the lakes on the Cumberland river drainage. Percy Priest and Old Hickory would not be affected.
The comission will listen to public input on this matter for the next 30 days. They will meet September 27-28, 2006 at the Ray Bell Building, Ellington Agricultural Center, Nashville. On the 27th, they will listen to public input should anyone want to show up and speak. They will vote on the matter the following day.
I am assuming they see the crappie population decreasing in those areas. If thats the case, I would have no problem at all with the new limit. Besides, 15 is enough for anyone:D
Theres so many crappie fisherman here on Douglas, I am glad the limit is already 15, or they would probably be extinct by now.
make crappie fishing illegal on douglas for two years and the problem would be solved hehe but that will never happen
