I haven't heard from anyone. I am going to try to go tonight. I know there is more traffic on Saturday night, but it is easier to sleep in on Sunday before chhurch than during the week. My crews start early this time of year.
Anyone been day or night?
I slayed 'em at Old Hickory yesterday. Haven't been to Priest in a couple months.
Hey Matt. How were you fishing on Old Hickory? I am planning on getting away in the next day or so and I could use any advise you have. Were you trolling, or jigging? What type of bait and how deep? Thanks.
But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
I was jigging. Red/chartreuse was the color of choice, but green/chartreuse works well too. The fish were holding about 6 feet down in ten feet of water. If you were not setting the jig in the brush, you weren't catching fish. Bear in mind that a front moved through the area later that day, so the crappie were a bit more aggressive. If you can find the fish and leave the bait stuck in their face for a while, you should be able to put a few in the boat.
Matt-
Have you been night fishing on OH? if so, where? and what part of the lake are you day fishing?
I have not been night fishing yet, and I'd rather not mention where I'm fishing in the daytime on an open forum. I will say that if you can find brush and cool water that you should be able to find the crappie. The other day, I was catching them in 72° water. Of course, it warmed up to 80° by 9am...
