    Exclamation Hey Charger and Bluegill!

Haven't been on site in a couple of weeks. Doing to much fishing! I am not much of a crappie fisherman, however, Bass fishing is my thing. The two lakes I fish the most are Douglas and Loudon/Tellico. Especially Tellico due to smallmouths.
Bass on Douglas as of Friday 7/20 and Sat. 7/21 were hot. My cousin and I caught 9 on Friday night and I lost count of the strikes we missed. On Sat., we both got our limits plus some. Which we caught and released. What was so dang sad was I did get one to the boat and with the lights I use which are the new LED type I could see that he could have easily went 4-5lbs. As I bent down to try to get him by the lip he did one heck-of-a-dance and threw the hook out. Needless to say I about cried. Well, so much for the fish story.
Currently on Douglas, Bass are hitting right at about dusk off of rocky points and continue on into the night. There are several good spots on Muddy Creek and McGuire. Lure of choice is a plastic worm. I prefer the Zoom brand in 6-7 inch size. Best productive colors are Plum, Pumkinseed and Cherryseed. I usally rig my in Texa's style set-up. I use a number 1/0 wide-gap hook with a 1/8th bullet sinker. You can also rig this up in a Caorlina set-up as well, but I perfer Texa's rig. After dark, I bring out the black lights and that's when the fun begins. Most all of the fish taken are in the 1.5-2 pound range. Not much on size, but fun to catch. If I can be of anymore help, feel free to e-mail me (jeffrey.spangler@comcast.net) or call me at 865-256-5048. Best of to all!
    Sincerely,
    Jeff Spangler

Try using a 1/4 ounce Joe Paul jig with zooms tiny jig trailers. The color that is my favorite is black/blue jig with black trailer at night, and brown/purple jig with black trailer at dusk. I use this on Tellico and have been catching a lot of bass right now on the rock points. I know you are asking about Douglas, but I found this combination works well on all the different lakes around here.
