CP id say your rite, munching on the shad...
Lot of dead shad in West Sandy. I don't have a clue except the fish quit biting.
I guess they snacking on the shad.
I didn't do much fishing. It was either high winds, thunder storming, or licearating all weekend......
I found a few fishes in about 20 foot of water at them mouth of West Sandy. Too windy to do much. Water temp was 86 degrees. Fish only took jig tipped with small minners.

Wonder what kills shad this time of year? I saw lots of deaduns last winter but that was extended cold weather causing that.
Yeah... them, too!!! :D Either way, just too few Rednecks and Hillbillies for me to fit in!!!!

Canepole,
The only thing I can think of killing shad at this time of year in West Sandy Creek is due to them pumping out the bottoms of West Sandy. Shad prob got in during the flood and annual fill up and they are dying as they get pumped back in to the lake? What do you think?
several factors killing shad this time of year. decreased oxygen levels in the waters, extreme hot temps in the shallows, increased boat usage, fluctuating water levels and the list goes on and on. you very well maybe seeing some signs of fish being pumped across the levee
