Default Mississippi River Crappie (for reelfoot yankee)

Fished off the Mississippi River this week. Couple hours each day and man what some hogs. I got pics on my phone but no pics with camera till today. Finaly bought some batteries:D:D

These fish today i caught all in 35 minutes. The next 4 hours nothing.... Now I did get some to bite and dropped some of the biggest fish of my life back in the water but thats fishing.....

Caught one the other day that was over 17 inches. Todays fish were (by lbs/ozs) 2.3,2.1,1.12,1.11,1.8,1.8,1.4, 0.14

Im having a blast. Dont know what happened to the fish this morning. It was hammer time that 35 mintues with these 8 and a few more bigger ones I couldnt get out of the brush. Then after that nothing..... I missed a couple more later in the day that were huge but never boated another fish.

Nevermind the grizzly fellow in the picture. He is getting ready to hibernate for the winter :D Pic of all the fish together shows no justice to their size. Enjoy!

    Justin,
Very nice fish!! You are the crappie king. You just have to me how do you get to go fishing so much?LOL I had a rough trip this week and got back in to a pile of stuff on my desk and 150 emails. I'll hook up with you sometime next week or so and get the buckets to you.

Those that have caught river fish would not be suprised but it still gets me how wide these fish are. Even catchig 10 inch fish from the river the weight is unreal. I got more today. Not nearly as big but it was still fun!!

Lynn. I work for myself. So when I have a good week at work and make money I take off and fish. But i am burned out big time right now so I will be leaving the fish alone for a while. Maybe a few weeks then I will be back out on the river looking for big slabs.

Oh.... These fish were feeding heavily. maybe I got there too late as their bellys were full of bait fish. And 6 of them were loaded with eggs like it was spring already
