    Default Oneal Lake?

Anyone here fish it? Or any of the lakes in the Hatchie refuge?

I'm looking for lakes within an hour or so drive of Memphis. I've fished Glen Springs, Poplar Tree, Herb Parsons, and Arkabutla and am looking for some new lakes to try. Glen Spings is highy pressurized and full of grass. Poplar Tree is not known for crappie but according to the TWRA people who do the surveys they are there, I just dont know anybody who has had any luck catching them. So far, of the small fishing lakes around here Herb Parson has looked the most promising but I keep hearing about a yellow bass problem there. I've been out on it a couple of times but always in less than ideal weather conditions. I have caught crappie there and have yet to see a yellow bass but I was using jigs rather than minnows. Arkabutla has good crappie but is also a notoriously hard lake to figure out.

I get 6 miles to the gallon.
I aint got no good intentions.

Oneal is more of a bass lake. There's some crappie in there, but you'll end up with more bass.

If you get down there, how bout giving a duck report. I hunt down on the Hatchie all the time.

I would love to fish Sardis, its just a little further than I want to drive.

Here is my problem, I work Tue-Sat. My wife works Mon-Fri so Sundays are the only day the whole family is home together so I cant really justify fishing all day. I dont want to spend more time driving to and from the lake than I actualy spend on it so anything more than about an hour from Bartlett is not going to work for me. Also, I drive a car, my wife drives the SUV we pull the boat with, my car is a stick and she cant drive stick so Mondays are out of the question too because she needs the suv to drive to work. There have been a couple of times where I have taken her to work and then gone fishing but then we are back to not being able to stay all day because I have to be back in time to pick her up.

Anybody here from Memphis ever fish Dacus? My father in law keeps telling me I need to check it out but I have heard the silver carp have run all the crappie out.

1.) Take a Sunday and load up the family and teach your wife to drive the car. Monday go fishing. On the next week you can fish Sunday and Monday. That problem solved.

2.) I have no idea what lakes are good down there, but free bump
