Thread: mrs crappie stalker, canepole, anybody

I have a buddy that might like to come to the ky lake get together. He has a 12 or 14 ft john boat with a trolling motor only. Does anyone know any small lakes near the get together that he could go fish in his small boat? He does not have to crappie fish and would be happy bass fishin or whatever. What is the "pumphouse" area like?

He can fish behind the levee at the pumphouse. It's a good sized area, just not good for bigger boats. There are a lot of fish caught there. It's about a 20 minute drive from the campground and real close to Cane Pole's place. They close access to it at certain times of the year, so I'll double check to see if he can get in there that weekend. I'm pretty sure it doesn't close until November. Also, he can put in at the Port Road ramp. He could fish back in that arm for hours and never have to go out in the "big" water. There are tons of stake beds at different depths back there. He could probably also fish Swamp Creek (lots of good stake beds in there too), there are two ramps there that I know of - one is Mansard Island (they charge a launch fee) and the other one I'll have to find on the map - I know where it is from the water side, not from the road.
