Booger - it's no wonder you can't afford any gas - look at all those minners! Man those things are nearly $2 a dozen up this way. You must have $200 worth in that bucket. At that rate those crappies you keep catching must be worth $15 a pound!
Just kidding old buddy. I just hope the new owners of my favorite bait store on the way to Cherokee have lightened up a bit. Last trip the girl counted them one at a time. If there were two stuck together she peeled them apart to make sure you got 12 in a dozen. And yes - I got 10 dozen! Took 45 minutes. The previous owners would just give you a "scoop" for each dozen you paid for. Four or five dozen would turn the bottom of a five gallon bucket black. I could go three times on that four dozen

. I plan to get my tank out and just buy them by the pound and keep them alive at the house. When I owned my store I used to buy them for $4.00 a pound from my supplier in Lexington NC. I sold them for .50 a dozen and doubled my money. I averaged selling 200 lbs a week during peek seasons. From what I gather they sell them now for $6.00 a pound. I guess if they can get $35 - $40 a pound selling them for $2.00 a dozen, they will do it. Maybe I ought to get back in the bait biz!
