Default Weight Formula

I couldnt find my scales. The bathroom ones said 8.2, does anyone know the formula for weight? 22 1/2 in long with a 18 1/4 girth.
Oh yea... I was long linein for sauger when I caught her. 22 foot of water on a baby bass bandit 300.

Exclamation Guesstimate formulas .....

are not the best bet, because they're "averages" of fish sizes, converted into weights.

Here's an automated one, on my friend Alan's website : fish_weight which says your fish is 8.09lbs (8lbs 1.44oz) ... only a froghair shy of what the bathroom scales say

The mathmatical formulas are GxGxL/800 or LxLxG/1200

SO ... GxGxL/800 = 9.4
... LxLxG/1200= 7.7

The difference between these two "formulas" is 1.7lbs .... divded by 2 and added to the lower weight (averaging between the formulas) ... gives a weight of 8.55lbs. That's why I call them "Guesstimate formulas"

I think your bathroom scales are more likely to be the more accurate method of weighing ... especially since "measurements" are subjective to how & where they are taken.

In any case, and without splitting hairs about it, that's a 8lb Bass ... and a good fish, in anyone's book

Congrats on a nice fish ... even if it was an accident FYI ... two of my biggest three Smallmouth Bass have been similar "accidents", caught while Crappie fishing !!

... cp

Thanks pappy, although the bathroom scales were digital I didnt know how accurate they would be weighing a fish.

Nice looking bass. Roland Martin would say she must weigh 11-12 lbs. and then hold it closer to the camera to try and convince you of it!hehe
