Thread: Lake Greenwood feels like Greenland

Went out today.Inspired by yesterdays success I went out for 2 1/2
hours this morning.Air temp was 45 ,lake was 56,still moderately stained and the wind was from the NNE cold and gusty.(did I say COLD).Finally when my fingers froze I went home and built a big fire and it took me 3 hours to unthaw.Results were 2 white perch,obviously there is nothing a white perch wont do!!.You have to be dedicated to fish on a day like this.I saw 3 boats fishing.
Crappie fishing must be an APA recognized mental disorder.I went out again this afternoon.The wind has moderated slightly,the air temp is 41 and the water is now 54.I saw one boat ,the people in it were dressed up like eskimos and I expect they were going home ,skimming across the lake at a high rate of speed.
I caught nothing as no self respecting crappie would leave a warm fire,a good cup of coffee,the ACC tournament and a comfortable sofa to go bite my hook in this bitter weather.My wife is threatening to have me institutionalized.
If you are going out tomorrow(I wont),dress warmly.

Looks like the water temp is going down and will probably fall a little more as it's going to be cold again tonight and an 1" or more of rain coming through the weekend Wonder what it'll be like next Tues. or Wed.
