Default The Crappie Are Starting On Wateree

Went down to the dock last night to give it a try. I was using a rubber jig with a dark green head and split chartruese tail on a 1/32 oz. head (K-Mart). First cast, I hooked into a crappie! The fight was on; didn't last long because it was only about 6 inches long but it's a start. After about 15 minutes I caught another crappie. This one was a keeper, about 12 - 14 inches long. Another fifteen minutes went by, then another 15 minutes, then another and another and another...you get the point. No more fish. But it's was start. It means that they are moving into the shallows. My place is on Beaver Creek about half way from the big water to the bridge, on the left side about eight feet of water. The moon is getting full and I only stayed a little while, but in about 2-3 weeks it should be right!
I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left.

The water is clearing pretty fast, but still stained. Nothing as bad as a few days ago. Of course it is supposed to rain most of the weekend. Oh well, I'm just glad the crappie are moving into the shallows, finally.
