Awesome catch! And they really look fat. What depth were you fishing?

    Thanks for posting.

Thats a good mess!! striper seem to be a little small. On murray I believe they have to be 21 or 23" not positive on that though.
Looks like a fun weekend though!

You did much better than me. I only caught four before the wind and trolling motor problems caused me to give up. i marked alot of fish and the water was 53 just could not get it going.

Nice catch. I'll be getting after them tonight and tomorrow night.

    As far as the striper:

    The law states
The Saluda River from Lake Greenwood
Dam downstream to the Lake Murray Dam - 5
fish per day and 21-inch minimum size limit.
In Lake Murray during July and August, two
of the five striped bass creel limit may be less
    than 21 inches.

you are not illegal, because you are upstream of the Lake Greenwod Dam.

However, like keeping stocked trout in the Saluda River, most fisherman thinks is pretty unsportsman to keep a stiper that size.

But you are completly within the law as far as I know

Well as far as Murray is concerned I don't understand what a 21" limit does. A 15-20" striper is a pretty decent fish and well worth keeping in my book. Why in the world does a fish have to be 21"? On hartwell there is no size limit and plenty of big fish roam the water? Is it varying conditions in the bodies of water or what?

I absolutely hate hooking into a fish that tears through my spider rig setup only to find out that he's a 20" striper and needs to be thrown back...a fish that does that deserves to swim in grease! hahaha If you jump up and down on em and squash him out to 21 does that count? I've been tempted to try that on some slow days...
Hooking up every chance I get!
