    Default Below Buzzard's Roost

Well it's time for my annual Buzzard's Roost Report... below the Dam at Greenwood. Of course I'd like to thank board members for informing me last week the the Engineers would be dropping the lake... I promptly headed to the Roost looking for Crappie running like heck from the Stripers with the water running through the dam and all. But to no avail, the Crappie are taking a break I suppose.. but the White perch are Huge! Cast just inside the rapid water six feet deep with minnows for those guys... and as for the Stripers... man are they feeding, but I don't fish for them (rod not big enough). Honestly the Crappie should be back on by now, until then I'll enjoy eating white and yellow perch, which by the way were full off eggs... I fried them because you guys reminded me in the posts how good fresh water fish roe is. Hey Mr. Rango... headed your way soon!
