Well I caught my first crappie of the year yesterday, and I was also able to share it with my new fishing buddies. What a blessing.

Thanks, I really am looking forward to the time when they will be able to hold a pole. For you experienced parents out there, what age did your kids start fishing at?

I figure a little help getting in the boat is not so bad, but when the day comes that they are changing my diaper, I'll be in trouble.

I dont remember the exact age but I do remeember carrying them to the boat ramps with a small pole in their little hands catching small bream around the rocks with a tiny float using a piece of live worm. The kids dont care how big the fish are, just so they are catching something. Many a tiume I'd carry them along with some of their friends. Talking about some WORK! But it was all fun seeing their little faces. They aint as picky as you or I would be. Seemed they wanted to go about every day. This was WAY easier on 'ole Dad than their firsts boat trips since the 'lil ones patience was tried while out in the boat.

Nice pic. I have ten month old boy/girl twins too. Can't wait to get them fishing. My buddy in Pittsburgh and I took his two year old fishing a couple years ago. Maybe even younger. he was just starting to talk and only knew a few words. I held the rod and let him real in a walleye. Every time I saw him after that he would say "waweye". Can't wait to start them fishing.
