went fishin in the river yesterday and today in pelzer, fellas the crappie bite is on! I caught 30 yesterday after church , and caught 41 today after work kept 25 of em both days. If you are tired of beating the banks of the lakes , then stand on the banks of Saluda and have a ball.
Sounds like youve found 'em doveslayer. Keep after 'em!![]()
Doveslayer, glad you are yanking them out...have you tried down toward hwy 247 yet? someone told me they were burning them up down there too...wish I had time to fish all these places but I can't pull myself away from them Russell slabs this time of year...anyhow, don't matter where you get 'em as long as you are having fun...congrats, Burdawg![]()

If you don't mind me asking where on the river?.. Where is the closest place for bait? I will actually be visiting family there this weekend. And would love to catch some Crappie while the wives are chatting it up. Farthest I've been down that way is Rabon.

Good to hear they are biting on the river, there is a boat ramp there also, never used it but was told the water is deep and the ramp is steep. Could not tell you how to get to it, I found it one time, its on the Pelzer side of the river but I made so many turns I'm not sure what the road name is. Good luck with the fishing.

are the fish from saluda river safe to eat???? alot of stuff runs in that river!!!
Hey Doveslayer, that is funny, I crossed the bridge there at the dam Mon. evening. I saw a boat just down from the bridge and said to my wife, "wonder if they're catchin' anything?" I guess I know now lol. If you ever looking for some company down there holler at me. I'd like to fish down there but my boats too big. I live in piedmont right on the river, but I haven't had much luck with crappie up here. Jdman
