I live in Greenville and want to give Keowee a try one night this week. We plan on tying up next to a bridge since it is our first time and have never fished for crappie there. Is there one bridge better than another that someone could recommend? The bridge on hwy 11 is the closest, and it is at the very northern end of the lake. Would we be better off fishing near Seneca, which is a further drive for us but worthwhile if we get into the fish. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

If I was going to fish the north end I would try Easatoee creek. I have had good luck there in the past. May get lucky an hook a trout there. Also ceder creek is close by. I would think either one would be good this time of year. I try to setup up in around 25 to 32ft of water, fishing down around 15ft deep. Last few times out on keowee we seem to do better with smaller minnows. Hope this helps and good luck!
I have tied up to the #11 bridge a few times with no luck. Eastotoe would be your best bet but if you do not know the lake I would not suggest it. It's a somewhat winding drive and a little narrow if you do not know where the turns are. I agree with snowman try Cedar creek I have only tried it one time and the wind was real bad and did not catch any but I think if you set up in the mouth of it where it feeds the main lake in 20' to 35' you should do pretty good. And cedar creek is just across from fall creek landing. And remember there are no lights at the landing so pay attention when you get there while it's light so you will be able to find it in the dark. When I get close to where I think it is I start shining a light around to see the bouy then you know you are there. And Crow creek would be a good option also, you could fish close to the landing. The BP gas station that is right at the turn off for fall creek landing sells minnows and I have never had a problem with them always healthy.
I would skip the Hwy 11 bridge and try what the others suggested. Other places to think about are Cane creek bridge in Seneca, Crooked creek bridge in Seneca, or one of my favorites- the old wooden bridge nearly all the way up Stamp Creek which isn't too far from Hwy 11. I usually anchor on channel ledges in 25 to 35 feet of water. Good luck out there.
Ive fished around the the hwy11 bridge twice this year, havent done any good. Water is very clear up that way. Having luck in crooked and stamp creek.
