Went to Allison creek this morning about 6:45. put the boat in and the damn starter wouldn't engage so my buddy took off the cover and was going to hold the starter gear up in place. He told me to hit the switch and when I did it grabbed his right index finger and cut off the entire end!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To say the least that was the fastest I have ever loaded a boat. especially since we couldn't even crank the big motor. just had to get it close with the trolling motor the wade out and hook in the winch strap while he held what was left of his right index finger. left there and had to go all the way back to gaston memorial hospital to get him fixed. they were able to do pretty good with it. he still most of the tip attached by some meat on the bottom so they numbed him up and put it back together as best as they could. so to say the least IT WAS NOT A GOOD DAY!!!!!!! you'll know if you see us on the lake any time soon we'll be the boat with me having to cast out all the rods because his hand is out of commision for atleast 3-4 weeks. so please keep him in your prayers for a speedy recovery.
Boy, that was bad!
I hate it for your buddy and hopes he gets a full recovery on his finger. You just gotta respect "machines" cause that is what they are and dont consider fingers, arms, etc. Gotta look after # 1 ya know. Best wishes to him.![]()
That is terrible to hear---hope he recovers soon---
