wylie 4-10
met up with craig aka fishfinder8 at the landing and headed to crowders shortly there after. after a lil bit of some motor problems and anchoring problems we were set just before dark. the bite didnt start til about 20 minutes after dark, but it was on!! for the perch that is. they were visious as can be. id watch my rod to the left go down, then it was as if they were playing games with me..then the next rod, then the next, and the next after that til they moved down to craigs rods. no kidding a few times i had 3-4 perch on at once. few crappie mixed in here and there. at about 11, the slabs started hitting hard. in about 20 minutes, we put 6-8 really nice crappie in the boat, then out of the blue the winds started blowing 20 + MPH and it was time to haul azz in.
our final tally was 26 crappie, 1 cat, and i dont even know how many perch we gave OT....probably near 30 of them as well. one difference tho is that some of the perch surprisingly were decent sized.
Craig is now a certified nightstalker and can hang with anyone of us. back home his biggest crappie ever was about 10 inches....well last night he got a small taste of wylie landing one about 1 3/4 lbs right off the bat. the whole time rango and his crew were within sight last night.
this weather we have this morning is making me think of 1 thing......striper. im on my way to norman :D :D
if at first you dont succeed............drink another beer
