I was at Calhoun Falls for 7 day's. My main purpose was Turkey hunting, but I got some fishing in too. The weather for the first couple of days was nice, but it didn't take it long to turn bad! I ended up getting two turkeys and caught a few fish, but not too many. On Sunday, I caught 14 crappie fishing over brush on a creek channel ledge. I caught them about 12 ft deep. I would have a picture, but when I got the camera I realized it didn't have any batteries. On Monday, I went back to the basics and just relaxed. I grew up fishing with a bream buster and a cork and I decided to do the same on Monday. I drifted around the bank and points fishing with minnows for about 1 1/2 to 2 hrs and caught a mixture of fish. Them green carp sure can put up a fight on a 12 ft bream buster. I had a few get off. Then I decided to clean and eat them that night. They were good too!
I was hoping to get some night stalking in, but with the moon up high and bright, I decided not to. Starting Wednesday the wind was pretty much non stop and changed the remainder of my fishing plans, but over all it was a fun and relaxing trip. The wife and kids came down Tuesday night and left Thursday morning, so I had plenty of time to do what ever. Anyway, I'm glad to be home........I think. :D
The date on my camera is two days off. I guess I should learn to set it right.![]()

Hey!@ Hey! FishnLine...looks like you did good enough to me! I bet you had a ball turkey hunting around the entire lake by yourself AND fishing anywhere you wanted too. And to boot...........the family came visiting ya! That sounds like a pretty good vacation to me.
That's one thing I love about fishing. You can make it as fancy and complicated or as simple as you like. That nice mess of bream, crappie, and both species of bass made for a great fight and some fine eating I'll bet!
Congrats!

They were good. I would have taken an "after" (cooked) picture, but they didn't make it too long.Originally Posted by Fisher-o-Men

I have spent most of my life fishing.
The rest I have just wasted.
