Guys,
this is the stuff I remember from going out with Peter.
rods,
rod holder,
minnows,
2 anchors w HOW MUCH rope?
lights to put in the water or float on the water
bug spray for later
lights for the boat,
(Peter used a gas lantern and it worked well,
but it gets darned hot and I'm wondering if
anyone use other types of light for the boat?)
making a list to go the Bass Pro Shop.

i use 3/8 in twisted nylon for anchor rope. it comes in 150 ft spools at walmart for about 25 bucks per roll. store your rope in a 5 gallon bucket to cut the tangles. ive used gas, propane and clamp ons, all with good sucess. the clampons are the easiest to use if you got enough batts.Originally Posted by brettw
i dont use bug spray as the mosquitoes usually arent a problem on our lake and if the gnats are swarming the lights, bug spray aint gonna help your situation. best thing to do if the bugs are swarming is mount the light far enough away from you to where the gnats wont be dropping on you. rod holders and tbars are as assorted as fleas on a dogs hinny. be sure to keep us updated on how your progress goes.

Don't forget clips to attach the ropes to the anchors. Also make sure they are strong enough incase you get one hung on the bottom.
Make sure to have plenty of light inside the boat. (The biggest problem I ran into on my first night stalk.)

Still learning this crappie thing.

Here's what stays in my boat:
One of the plastic lock boxes to keep my lights in. Inside this bow is:
Two starfires (and a piece of "noodle" cut to protect each). I usually only use 2 in the water.
One clamp on light (cause that's mostly all I use). Once clap on in the right position lights up 14' of my 16' boat. One thermacell for the skeeters. One fish scale to weigh the big 'uns.
I also keep a spare light and spare starfire under my boat seat.
Two anchors, both in different 5 gal. buckets with 150' of 3/8" rope for each.
Two marine batteries hooked in parallel for the lights to run off of. (Batteries will last longer I think.)
I have vertical rod holders mounted to my center console (rod holders of some fashion you may want while traveling on land and water) so I use a 8' pc. of 1 & 1/4" PVC to stick in one of the rod holders to hold my clamp on lights up.
No live well in my boat so I keep a double door cooler on board. I think it's a 60 quart cooler.
Plenty of rod holders mounted on T-bars for your rods/poles to sit in. (I fish 6-8 rods/poles myself and have more in the back of the boat for someone else to use.)
You gonna need a net for the slabs.
With warmer weather coming I'd also pick up a Mr. Bubbles (or whatever you call 'em) for the minnow bucket too.
I probably forgot some stuff but this will get you started with ideas.
LOL....unless you already have alot of this stuff you better take along the credit card!!:D
forgive pete for his misconceptions. he is new at this nightstalking game with his own rig. when he matures more he will realize the full benefits of having rod boxes full of ugly sticks. the 3/8 in rope i doubt you will break. for stuck anchors you need a snatcher. i havent lost a hung anchor yet with the snatcher nor has my 90 broken the rope snatching a stuck anchor loose.Originally Posted by pete
i dont have a list of the stuff i carry. i will say the bigger your boat the more stuff you seem to need so you add it to the stock.
