Guys,
I finally got a used boat yesterday,
Now I was told on the phone that I didn't need a license plate in SC because it is under 2500 lbs. Is this correct?
ps,
the boat is a 2003 G3 Pro 175, now if I can just earn my nightstalking badge !
time for a trip to BP Shop !!!

you dont need a tag for a boat trailer in sc. im not clear on what the size limit of the boats are tho, but the boat you got dont need one.

I heard you need a tag when you take it out of Sc
i have pulled my boat into nc and ga a lot of times and have never had a problem with no tag on it. nc trailers require a tag, if your boat is registered in nc. but i dont think if your boat is registered in sc and you travel to nc fishing a lake you need a tag on the trailer to do soOriginally Posted by fishfinder8

I think each state honors the other states law. I agree with Rango if the boat is registered in SC you do not need trailer tags.
The Racers that race dirt tracks around NC, SC and GA do not have tags on their trailers if they are from SC.
I am no lawyer so I might be wrong. If I was concerned I would check with the proper authorities.

Brett you dont need a tag for SC boats.I travel across state lines on a regular basis and never had a problem.Just be sure to have you registration card for the boat on you when you fish NC waters,I have had to show that at times..

Still learning this crappie thing.

I have been looking around for a used utility trailer. I was surprised at the number of people that didn't have tags or even a title for their trailers.
