    Default Crappie an Crackers!

Well , after waking up early yesterday and proving my inability to catch even ONE bass at Clark’s Hill, we drove back to Greenwood to regroup. Broke out The jig rods and slayed some shell crackers yesterday evening. Then we got back on the lake at daylight today to go after crappie. Fast an furious for about 2 hours, then slowed a little. Pulled 1/32 jigs and stuffed the livewell! Caught over 50 with more shell crackers mixed in. Kept 22 clone crappie to fillet. All bagged and tagged. I feel like I can catch a fish again. Dry spells suck , even when its bass!

Man! It's fun catching and it's TOUGH when youre not! Glad even though the bass didnt work out that you guys got back on the brims and crappies. Congrats on some fine catches. Thanks for sharing the report and pictures.

You got that right! Tried to find some crappie at the Hill, zero on that too. Went up past FT Gordon and some of the creeks around there. Couldn’t find your honey hole. Lol

Congrats on the catch, but I’m a bit confused. The live well shot is all white crappie. Did those come from Greenwood or Clarkhill? I’ve never seen a white crappie caught in Greenwood. You stated y’all slayed the shellcracker, but the fish on the dock are all bluegill except for the one white crappie.

Well I’m not a bluegill expert. These may be Bull gills instead. I assumed they were shell crackers . As for the crappie, I am pretty sure they are black crappie. They have been on ice for a while in that pic. But yes , we were at Greenwood.
I guess I need to change my post to Blue Gill. Crappie an Crackers!

How do you tell the difference on white vs black crappie?
