Any reports on water conditions, crappie location or activity in the Jacks creek or Packs Landing area. Looking to make a day trip to that area next week if water conditions are favorable!!!

From what I hear it is high and muddy in general. May be clearing by the end of week.

A friend at church this morning said the crappie bite is pretty good at Jacks. Gonna give it a try tomorrow if plans work out ok.

Scottiemoe, Tomcat 61 from NC back to you. Thanks for reply about Jack's. Friends and I come down past 3 years about this time and try our luck. We usually fish Jacks, Bell, Angel, and Potato depending on the wind. We stay at Blacks. Coming down Sat 2/24 for a week. We mostly long line pull but may try tightlining some this time. This is earliest we have been down. Any info would be helpful. Maybe if you ever come to Kerr Lake we can return the favor. Thanks. PS I get good fishing tips from buddies at church also!!

We decided to wait until tomorrow to go. Today is Presidents' Day. Less crowd tomorrow.

Understand. Makes sense to me. Any info you or any of your friends could furnish would be helpful. Bite around here just getting good but we've had quite bit of rain last 10 days. 11 inches of snow before that. We always enjoy coming down there. Better chance of a 3 pounder in your pond than in ours.

We didn't do well, only got 2 keepers, a few throw backs. The fish are there, other folks did really well. Twtr 67. Fishing 4-6.5 feet of water. We only fished minnows, might have done better with jigs tipped with minnows? Still a beautiful day on Gods planet. We fished the hatchery area of Jacks. Hope this helps, wish I could give y'all a better report.

scottiemo, thanks for the info. Sounds like tightlining is a good possibility for that shallo depth. I went today myself and caught enough for supper. Used jigs tipped w minnows in about same depth of water. Water temp here only 52 for high today. we'll be there Sat if all goes as planned. Again, thanks for the info. Good luck to you.
