    Default intro

New to the forum and thought I'd introduce myself. I've lived on Wylie for 15+ years and never specifically targeted crappie. Mostly catfish, bass around here when it's not hunting season (gator, deer, ducks)...and I striper fish wateree, congaree, santee and murray during spring and summer. I've also been obsessed with flounder gigging and take trips to the coast a lot. Fishing for crappie specifically is new to me and I'm learning...great info here.

I have 2 boys 11 and 13 and wanted to give crappie fishing a shot since my oldest boy has really started to get interested in fishing. My best friend from Spartanburg goes out a lot and explained how to set up my boat. I've been a few times over the past couple of weeks and haven't done much. Anyway I wanted to introduce myself.

    Thanks

Nice to meet ya. We have a crazy but nice bunch here. Lots of folks to fish with and learn from. With the kids I like to turn them on to the perch fishing. It can keep them awful busy. All i do is fish Wylie. I am 4 minutes from Big Allison ramp. Plucking a crappie out of a brush pile is what I like best. Starting to learn some long line tactics.

from Lexington/Lake Murray. I venture up that way a few times each year to share a chuckle or two with the Wylie crowd. As stated, kids and wife are always welcome and on the outings they make sure the kids all win a prize.

    Hi
If y’all live on the lake you may have the opportunity to put out brush or any number of Crappie attraction items.
You can do it on the cheap and it would make a perfect project for the boys. 5 gal buck, bamboo, concrete
