Would like to know just for interest purposes if we could get up a daylight rodeo, say do a Stumpy Pond/Fishing Creek Crappie Rodeo sometime soon, theres a good bite going on down that way, would be interesting or maybe a Wateree/Stumpy Pond Rodeo, would like to see a striper/catfish one on wateree in the next few weeks, they ought to turning on real soon, just throwing it out there, would like to get in on some of it if we can get enough interest.![]()
we are planning on doing a daylight striper/catfish rodeo at wateree sometime in april. it will be on a sunday. IF we have a good turnout then we will discuss having another one im may.
the rodeos come about when some of us nightstalkers decided to band together and do a little socializing. then we decided to put up a little ante to make it even more interesting. most of the nightstalkers i know prefer the night life and id be suprised if you gonna get much interest from em for daylight crappie fishin. thats an entirely different ball game. it would be great if our daylight fishers would start something up but so far it hasnt happened. the interest has got to be there before you gonna get any participation.

There seems to be a good number of daytime fishermen on here and it suprises me that they haven't gotten a thing together yet.I would be floating around the lake trying not to look stupid day fishing to be honest. My pontoon aint very conducive to dock shooting or the like.Bam has been pressuring me to learn daytime fishing lately but it just doesn't seem to fit what I am trying to get out of crappie fishing.I dont eat them really that much as I prefer other fish to them.I just like the kick back , relax and wait attitude that night stalking has.I would however come out and try to learn something to support the group if you threw one.Just wouldn't expect to catch many.I do love the stumpy pond area a lot.Maybe a side catfish bet like always would boost your attendance a little too.
Commercial fishermen help feed the world.
i plan on doing some trolling this year when the water gets right. maybe even some spider riggin. but my main focus is on night stalking, for about the same reasons e just give![]()

I was a pressure bass fisherman, and I am also looking for that relaxed style of night fishing for a change. I am so new to this I would be lost in the daytime.

I have to work days and nights during the week and weekends - so if I have to work them all - I fish them all as well - it sux though that I work more than I fish - 5 1/2 more years tll that changes - until then I will keep Rango's checks on time - maybe he will share one of his Yuelings
with my mind on crappie and crappie on my mind -
and if ya'll see Goober later tellem I said duh huh - he'll know what ya mean!!!!!!!!
to me ,the way we do it aint much different that a nightstalk, espcially at stumpy, you are doing basically the same deal, just aint anchored up or no lights, put your lines out tightlining at the depth the fish are running, most we catching are hanging near the bottom, put the trolling motor down and cover your area, not real fast, just barely move along, not real complicated,i like trolling too, would prefer to tightline against that, never done much dock shooting with jigs either, anyway was just wondering if there was any interest for something a little different than the norm, look foward to the striper/catfish rodeos and the future nightstalk rodeos
