Default V 18 bass tracker for crappie?

    Guys,
I'm wondering if a bass boat setup would be not so hot for crappie fishing?
I might go look at a V 18 bass tracker, nice wide boat but the bass deck design has got me worried.
    Opinions please.
    thanks

I have a small bass boat 15' long 5.5' wide that I have used for years.
I sit in the seat that came withit and I have no problems at all.
crappie day has a nitro bass boat He uses a folding chair at the front of his.
I think mthe main thing is just to get the rod holders set up for the type
    of chair you use.

I have a bass boat I fish out of. It is a 16.5 ft Ranger. I currently have 3 holders on each side of the two main seats. (Soon to be 4 ... 5 if I can figure that out.) Keep in mind you can also use the front and back seat hole for a rod holder. Man you could get quiet a few out the front and the back if you rigged something up. I remove both seats if I am not bass fishing.

I still think the ideal boat is a toon.

Take a look at this thread to get some ideas. http://www.crappie.com/gr8vb3/showth...triton+crappie

I crappie fish from a SMALL bass boat. Both decks are raised. I will be installing small "T" bars (only 12" wide) on 18" risers in order to get the rod handles within easy reach. Fewer missed strikes... also, don't want to be bent over reaching for a rod, have the boat hit a stump and go rolling into the lake. Most people would use a longer "T" bar with more holders on it, but I'd spend all my time unsnarling rigs.

We don't go crappie fishing with the boat we would like to have...we go crappie fishing with the boat we have.:D Safety and comfort can be realized in any boat with proper rigging. A strong hull and a well maintained motor will bring you many happy outings.
If it was easy...everyone would be doing it..
