Thread: west marine

after searching far and wide this week for a new 12 gallon gas tank for the beast i found one at west marine on 49, at the 3rd redlight from the bb going toward charlotte. i dint know that store was there and was suprised to find so much fishing stuff concentrated in one store that close to home plate. they got all kinds of stuff in there. i called anchor marine in shelby where i bought the boat. they said yeah we carry em and got em in the store. went over there and they dint have one. i had to bite hard on that stick to keep from showing by butt. then bass pro said they had six in inventory. got over there and the guy went to get me one out of stock and come back and said the puter is showing they had six but there wasnt any back there. another wasted trip that was really really bad for the blood pressure..... checked around at several wylie marinas and nobody carried em. one place told me i might try west marine and he pointed me in their direction. looks like a well stocked store and they had the tank... now im ready to go again....

I go to the West Marine pretty regular at lunch time if I'm looking for something. It's only about 3 min. from the plant. They got a good assortment of stuff. They pretty proud of most of it, but sometimes you can get a deal. If you ever need anything specific, I can run over there in a flash and pick it up for you. It might save you a few bucks on gas.

they was proud, real proud of that gas tank, but it was the only one i was able to find and i was proud to find it so i smiled as i paid for it......

Most of the time they have what you need but you are going to PAY for it

A few bucks on gas and it sounds like it may save Rango a few blood pressure pills too!

There's not much more aggrevating than for someone to tell you they have it and drive there to find out they don't. It's worth paying a little more sometimes, just to eliminate the hassle.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who runs into this kind of crap. I think it's the people that they hire more than anything. I have gotten to where I just order it off of the net, so I want have to worry anymore.Timk

just a lil FYI for you all that need a ap, but the west marine by wylie has one of the last remaining 55 lb thrust AP motors in stock in all of charlotte!! serious. if you need one ya better hurry

I go there pretty often. Was really glad to have a store like that open so close. Gotta pay the big buck usually but with the price of gas or shipping it's not too bad.

I drove all the way to savannah after i called bps to make surrrrre they had the lowrance 332 I wanted and guess what when I got there I spend 1 1/2 hrs. to find out they didn't have one after all. (they wouldn't even order and send it to me a home That was a 5hour round trip for nothing.) Talk about blood pressure.

How did we ever do business without a dang computor.

ive come to the conclusion that all business will lie to you, figering if they can get you in their store you gonna buy something before you leave
