    Thumbs up I Pilot/Murray/Stripers

Last night I had chance to really test my new trolling motor with I pilot.....first we had to get the boat in as we arrived a major storm arrived with us....there was mass exodus and chaos at the ramp as most of the boats on Murray were at the boat ramp trying to jockey the trailers to get their boat out........we circled the parking lot and brought the truck and boat to a spot where it wouldn't get bumped and just sat there.....later on the lake I turned on the bilge pump which pumps 1200 gallons per hour thru a 7/8 inch hose and it ran for about 8 minutes so we had some rain water in the underbody....after an hour wait we finally got the boat in headed out....slow, slow, slow, slow is how it went till a buddy called on cell phone and invited us to set up beside his boat...he was tearing them up......we headed his way.......placed the boat about 15 feet off his stern and set the I pilot.....what a tool.....we remained on his stern till we caught our ten limit for which he had already done but stayed to chat with us........he was on anchor and I was on I pilot we never got closer than the 15 feet set point........love that thing. If we had had to rope anchor out we could never gotten that close....we couldn't tie to his boat either as he uses four large lights and a generator to set up..........

Enjoyed your report and congrats on the catch. Hard to beat the I-Pilots and a good thing you waited the rain out, sounds like a lot of water fell from the storm.

I'm really glad you shared that. I bought a 24v PowerDrive a few months back, and for Father's Day got the I-Pilot upgrade kit. I hope to install it this week.

A few years ago there was a ridiculous night bite for big stripers on Hartwell, but it required me to set two anchors in over 150' of water. Quite a lot of work! It sounds like the Spot Lock might allow me to try this again, but without the hassle of anchoring.

If so, I'll be sure to post results!

Good successful report! Persistence with good equipment and friends paid off. Thanks for sharing.
It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!
