I bought one a couple months ago and really like it. It is easy to operate and has all the features of the more expensive units. I just downgraded to one boat and I am planning on putting it on the front of my boat.

There are some down imaging differences between the Lowrance and Garmin units. Might want to check them out. Not bashing or promoting either unit. Just what I've seen on internet. FYI.

I got rid of all my Humminbirds and went to Garmin an I have the echomaps 93 sv at the helm and love it !!! IMO Garmin has got Lowrance and Humminbird beat hands down as far as easy to use and units !!! and what I mean by units is a year or two from now your hard earned money you spent on your unit will still be a unit supported by Garmin and not outdated or a discontinued unit !!!

Do y'all have the ultra maps ? How does the loaded maps do around SC & Ga? How's the side images? I'm running the lowrance units now with down scan ( 5hd up front & a 9 hook on the back, wanting to replace the 111lxc on the dash. )

That's a good unit. Much better then the hummingbird helix and faster then the lowrance. The processor is very fast. The maps don't stop to load while riding. It's seamless. The imaging is different the the lowrance. X2 on that unit still being expandable for the next couple years. It's got more options then any other brand at that price. Hands down. Ultra maps are great. The fish eye view is wonderful for trolling. You can creat your own maps too. Go look at all the things that unit can do. Lowrance you would have to spend $300-$500 more for a comparable unit. Garmin is dedicated to being the best fishing units on the market. They've had the mapping and navigation that's second to none. Now with the new mission of being the best at finding fish garmin is changing the game.

Main forum has a thread about them. I have not seen the 93 VS. Hope you find what you want.
Hummingbird Helix's mega image models aren't to shabby!

I am pleased with the Garmin 93sv combination screens and adjustment screen menus. I use it to find fish on structure.
