    Default Russell Today

Pulled up to Calhoon Falls today and spidderriged for more then 6 hours. Fished with minnows where some fish were marked at about 35 feet. Nada, nothing, zilch. One green carp on a white jig. Had 22 different color jigs in the water at different depths. Guess my usual luck is still holding strong.

Stay after them Carl, it will get better. If your luck is like mine, it will get better the day you are not there.

Appreciate the kind words. My ole hips and upper legs are all stove up from sitting in that front seat so long today--thought I would never get out of the boat back at the landing. Just glad I didn't have to clean fish for two hours.

Hated to hear your trip went that way Carl. Stick with 'em. They should start busting almost anything hitting the water soon. Hopefully I'll be able to get out atleast once this coming weekend and give you guys a night time report. It'll be a couple weeks for me. Probably have to go back and find 'em all over again.

I hope you get them all corraled up and can hold them there for a while. Why don't you let me know when you're going and where you will be. I would'nt mind pulling up there again and puttin' my starfire over the side for a few hours. Most any time day or night works for me.

Hey Carl. How muddy was the water on the lower end of the lake yesterday? EVERYTHING is muddy on the upper end, especially back up in the creeks. Heck, even the Savannah was muddy today up above Allen Creek.

Wasn't at the time too bad at all. even when I damn near run agound a couple times I could see the bottom coming up. You Know how Russell is... the bottom can come up on you mighty fast even if your 200' of land. Not too muddy at all..put in at the falls and trolled from there up about 3 miles, in and out of coves and all along the shoreline. Only saw two bassheads all day sure was nice. did see and hear a couple loons neat sound. couple ospreys, and some ducks also

Thanks for the report Carl. I may check around the mouth of Beaverdam down towards the Hwy. 72 bridge ramp tomorrow and see if there's anything good to fish over.
