went over to bps yesterday. figured with the spring sale going on early sunday morning would be a good time to beat the traffic through charlotte and the crowds. roads was good. got there about 10:30 and stayed till about 12:00. the crowds was good when i arrived but with that sale going on i guess others had the same intention as me and the store was pretty well full time i left. people crowding the aisles with buggys making in almost impossible to move around. went over there with the intention of purchasing the gps unit i been looking at but they dint have one. the clerk checked and said bps only had 7 in stock in their system and id be better off to order it on line. they had the mitchell 300 series reels on sale. 300's. 308;s and 310's all for 18.95 each. thats the best ive seen em anywhere. wallyworld sells the 300's for 39.95. i replaced one 308 i lost overboard last year trolling and a 300 that somehow just got gone. i use the larger reel on my striper/catfish rigs. anybody looking to replace or add to their stock on reels with mitchells, nows the time. gonna be a lot of spider riggers this year. seen a lot of guys walking around with the long whippy rods those guys use. if they lucky, they may last a year, since they wasnt uglies. but they dint have a choice since there was no long uglies there. one guy looked like he had about a dozen of em, with his wife in tow who had a serious pissed off look on her face.. hell be sleeping alone till he makes amends with her lol. crossed the catawba river going over. the river is really up and muddy. its gonna be awhile before that mess clears.
listen with your eyes---its the only way to beleive what you hear...
I crossed the river Sunday afternoon down below Bowater and it was at flood stage and muddy. Wateree won't be clear for three weeks!!![]()
ive made 5 trips to BPS trying to get the powerdrive AP motor.....every freakin time they have 0 on hand, 0 on order, and 0 system wide. its starting to piss me off, cause that tax money is burning a hole in my pockett, and i need the new trolling motor to replace that old piece of junk thats on the boat right now![]()

Hey Pete, if I remember ic an ride by Fisherman's friend and see what they got currently. What size are you looking for? Last time I was in there, they had the older models of the power drive MinnKotas that had AP added to it for about 350 I think. That ain't bad considering it's pretty much new when they get done with 'em. let me know. later
sure check for me if ya can.....Minkota powerdrive 55lb thrust, 48" shaft. if they dont have that take than the next size up i think is 54" shaft.
also check in the same thing but the saltwater version....id rather get that than the freshwater version.

I was gonna get the riptide in a refurbished from them but they can't get them anymore because Cabelas gets them all - but they do have the new ones - riptides are a little pricier than the freshwater onesOriginally Posted by pete
